My wife and I stopped at an Amish home to buy some Amish donuts. This buggy was sitting in the driveway, loaded with gas cans. I thought it was comical to see the cans sitting in the back.
@pamalama - They, or as least the Amish in this community, are allowed to use small gas engines. They use them for water pumps to get water to their barns so they don't have to carry it, well water is used to keep the milk cool until it is delivered if they have dairy farms, and the tractors that they use are exclusively for the power takeoff to fill their silos and hay lofts, and recently the Bishop has allowed the men to buy and own one gasoline chainsaw. All other farm work is done using horses. Oh yes, they use kerosene for their lamps, some types of ovens, and irons.
