Red Moon Eclipse by stray_shooter

Red Moon Eclipse

I'm sure there are better photos out there of this event, but this is what I was able to catch. Pretty cool site to see.
Congratulations! I stayed up -- but all we have is cloudy sky and not a moon to be seen.

Well done! I've just come home from trying to photograph it and wondered if anyone else had done so...and you have. Great job. We had cloud cover for first half hour so not sure what I've got yet!.

Ah, you're a good man, staying up late enough to capture this rare sight. Me, I was counting sheep, or goats, or robins while you were out shootin' the moon. Great shot!

LOL about Poppo's possible plans for Mr. Robin. That comment about put coffee all over my computer monitor.

And yes, I'd say goats are always smiling. I have about 30 additional pictures that support that thought.

You inspired me to take one last look out the window before giving up for the night -- and I mention you in my narrative: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2014-04-15

Good shot Ron. It poured rain in Sydney so no see the moon. Perfect conditions at home though. Buggar!!!!

@jyokota @gilbertwood Thanks! I was a bit concerned because just as the eclipse started, it began to cloud up a tad. Luckily it cleared as the blood began to pour.

@jin1x Thanks for the fav, Miss Sunkist. And why were you not up in Austin gazing at the stars and moon? ;-)

@marmaladeskyes Oh, man, that's terrible - three hours of lost REM time! And no real life view. Sorry I couldn't have given you a better quality shot after all of that. Next eclipse, OK?

@simta Я рад быть в состоянии помочь вам, Татьяна. В следующий раз вы берете картину, и я буду спать!

@pcoulson It wasn't too late here, Peter. The eclipse began around 11:30 p.m., the full eclipse occurred around 45 minutes later and the orange/red began to appear not too long after that. I think I hit the hay by 1:30 a.m. Easily worth staying up till then just to view this event.

@lyndemc It wasn't all that much of a struggle to stay up for this - I'm pretty much a night owl anyway (except I don't care that much for mice and rats). Actually it had slipped my mind, and on the evening news they showed some live shots and I suddenly remembered I wanted to try to catch some shots of it, so grabbed the tripod and camped out in the back yard and watching Jimmy Kimmel and shooting the moon. Just another night at the ol' cardboard box.

I'm beginning to become a real fan of the goats. I'm going to see how many I can get for my lawn mower.

@terryliv Doesn't it always work out that way? Note to self - next eclipse, stay home!

@stray_shooter :) LOL ~ I saw the Full Moon (after someone reminded me to go look) but didn't stay up for the Red Show. Maybe Next time
thanks for sharing your shots. Totally a FAV!
