This is the Riverside National Cemetery, the West Coast version of Arlington National Cemetery. On Memorial Day the Support Committee places a flag on every grave marker. The cemetery covers 921 acres and there are just under 200,000 graves.
Such an awe inspiring, sober, and peaceful scene. Like how Rosecrans National Cemetery as well as virtually all national cemeteries do this on Memorial Day..... Glad you enjoyed your day with Louse and Ken.
Wow great pov Ron, lovely to see the sea of flags one on every stone, Great image Ron, we plant little wooden crosses with a poppy on ours with the name of our relatives that fell "gone but never forgotten"
@pjtphoto Thank you kindly, Peter. Not conscious of the technicalities at all when taking the photo. Note that it was my little S100 P&S. Maybe this picture taking stuff is starting to get ingrained in me by now.
