The freezing rain in South Carolina left us with all kinds of beautiful sites. I didn't have much time to get out and capture photos. This was early in the morning just as I left the hotel. The bare trees were coated in ice everywhere - so many great subjects to capture and few chances to get some really creative ones. This will have to do for now.
OMG! Too cold for me but the iced over trees are beautiful. Reminds me of when I lived in Portland and survived and ice over of trees, grass, the harbor, everything.
There isn't a prettier sight than the aftermath of an ice storm, but they're so treacherous! I know you were dying to get photos from every angle! How frustrating it would be to have to cut it short! This is certainly a beauty! It just leaves me wanting more!
As beautiful as these trees look in that morning light, I can just imagine the chill in the air that would make the water freeze on those branches, and I don't envy you!! Hope you get some more photo opportunities before you leave....and, no colds!
Ron, this is beautiful and so interesting to those of us out here. The shimmering of the ice almost looks like so many very tiny lights..... But it also looks downright COLD.
@joysfocus@summerfield@Weezilou@pixiemac@gilbertwood@panthora@pcoulson@lyndemc@nthomas@simta@aglennc@terryliv I apologize profusely for the mass response, but my opportunities in responding are limited, as I'm getting ready to head home. Thanks so much for all of the positive comments and for the worries about my exposure to the cold. It's not really so bad, but now that the ice has gone away it makes the cold less fun - it's just plain cold.
