Mundane Monday - Hinge by stray_shooter

Mundane Monday - Hinge

My first contribution to the Mundane Challenge. It's hinges this time around. I'd love to say I captured this at some old dilapidated farm house, but sadly it's the gate on the side of my very own house. In the back of my mind I think I was waiting for some cause - like a 365 opportunity.
Now that might be a very interesting gate to go through!

Great close up and love the textures. Better to be hinged than unhinged.

Nice 'n rusty! Mine looked just like that before they were painted!

Lovely idea for the challenge Ron, lots of great detail and textures, must be an old hinge I see it was made in the good old US of A not the Peoples Republic of China, lol:)

My first challenge too! Must be something about hinges :)

Good idea to keep those rusty hinges, as they come in handy for times like this!

Something how we can find some old and rusty things to shoot just around the house. Great idea for a challenge!

@maggiemae It's always an adventure on trash day! One day soon the gate will likely have to ride along to the trash pile.

@onewing Thank you Babs. I think I tend to spend too much time on the unhinged side. :-)

@redy4et You painted all of that beautiful rust?!? Fortunately you have such photographic skills you don't need to fall back on rust as I do. ;-)

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. Probably one of the few items around here still made in the USA!

@sketch2 Nice hinge on your part Dave! Can't lose with spider webs. Good luck in the challenge!

@stray_shooter Thanks Ron! I reckon if someone comes up with a good unhinged shot, it will be a sure winner.

@888rachel Thanks Rachel. I feel vindicated for not having fixed the gate. I'm sure another photo opportunity is waiting there somewhere.

So the lens arrived today. OMG that thing is huge! And heavy! I can't imagine carting around that expensive Sigma at one more kilo! I can't wait to go use it, but with a week's worth of rain, opportunities will be limited.

@cjphoto Thanks Chris. You're my inspiration for "things around the house." ;-)

Denise? Denise? It's RUST! Nice going Ron! Makes a hinge look less mundane! I like the way you played up the USA part...I think things made here are having a come back...or at least they're heralding the issue (as they should!) Wish I was in Lunenburg...LOTS of cool rusty things to pick from!

@stray_shooter I think my long lens is the same weight as yours. With the glare guard on the end, it looks so massive! I get so many people looking. I'm thinking of getting a monopod to balance the weight easier. I'd love to know how you go with yours.
