I'm pretty sure the piano keys here are not really ebony and ivory. It's a cheap upright piano, and ivory is banned, so according to my in depth research, i.e., looking it up on Wikipedia, it's most likely that the "ivory" keys are made of a type of plastic referred to as "ivorite" and the "ebony" keys are spruce or basswood. Unfortunately, Spruce and Ivorite is not something that I think Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney would have favored for their lyrics. Doesn't roll off the tongue quite the same.
it doesn't matter that they are not 'true' - it is the resulting image that is of more pressing concern. great PoV and love the, almost, non-existent DoF...
@pamknowler@gilbertwood@salza@tigerdreamer@photographycrazy@novab@pcoulson@terryliv@gilbertwood@naomi@Weezilou@jorlam@pickerandagrinner Thanks all for the kind words on my piano keys. Many commented on the depth of field, and I probably shouldn't admit this, but it was pretty much out of necessity. I was shooting in a poorly lit room and in order to get the proper exposure I had to go pretty much full wide. To be honest I was attempting to get a shot with greater depth of field, but it just wouldn't work at the ISO and shutter speed that I needed. Oops!!
The D750 can withstand pretty high ISO. Perhaps if you wanted more depth of field you could have employed that. What you ended up with is nevertheless a wonderful image.
