Another shot from the archives and another shot from the San Juan Capistrano Mission. These sanctuary lamps, or votive candles, represent the prayers offered by the worshipper, and judging by the quantities seen at the Mission, Southern California has more than its fair share of sinners....but we pretty much knew that.
Oh Ron, you always have that drum roll closure, Ba-da-boom! You certainly lined those up beautifully, and is it not somewhat remarkable that I could look at those "rows of red" and I knew exactly where you'd been! I suppose they'd run out of candles before you got there... Were you OK with that? haha Kevin @kevin365 Love the nod to unseen genuflection!
@Weezilou Thanks Louise. I'll share a secret with you - this was totally misaligned after my capture. I'm forever indebted to Lightroom for enabling me the ability to straighten the image. I'm sure I looked like I was having a spastic fit trying to get in position to get this shot. And I guarantee you there have been a few runs on the candles!
