Gunfighters

I'm a few days behind and had to revert to the archives, so I chose this photo from last month's visit to Tombstone Arizona. A little editing to give it a bit of a vintage look, and there ya go. By the way, these are real people.

What I learned in taking this photo: Cowboys love to have their pictures taken.
Their eyes make the image, for me. Solid

...of course they love to be photographed! When one goes to all that work to look so good, they like being the center of attention! Well they should be, at that...they look so fabulous, I wonder why this wasn't one of the first you posted after being there! I LOVE IT!

They look serious. Bounty hunters? Were you able to take your wanted posters down before they came riding into town?

well they are not dressed up like that for nothing!

They don't look happy.

Superb processing, perspective and detail Ron, they look the real deal to me, love those soft almost Sepia tones works very well:)

I suspect that this is actually their everyday street clothes - and you thought they were dressing up.

great processing which adds to the nostalgic feel of this super shot..
your subjects do look rather stiff. as though not having a real good time.. hope their day bucked up..

Very cool. My friend Lisa Greany's uncle was just inducted into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame.

@kevin365 Thank you Kevin, I also think the eyes are the real feature in this shot. I didn't realize it at the time of the capture, but once I saw the result I knew I had something special. I appreciate you stopping by to look and comment.

@Weezilou Aw, shucks, thanks Louise. I had so many candidates from Tucson that I guess this one just kind of got buried. I love that place, both for the unique photographic opportunities as well as the chance to get to know some of these people in person during the evenings when the tourist part of the day is complete. A fascinating place to spend some time.

@joysfocus Ha, I'm surprised there weren't some wanted posters with my image on them - although I could have had some made up, as they actually do offer such services. They weren't really as vicious as they appear to be, but they do put on a very good gunfight show!

@kali66 I have a feeling that they're not truly in costume Kali - a surprising number of folks hang out here dressed as such. Sort of like a western version of a Trekkie get-together, just not quite as nerdy. OK, maybe just as nerdy.

@pamknowler Thanks Pam, I think that's about as happy as it gets for them. When you're a gunfighter, I guess happiness is measured on a whole different scale.

@tigerdreamer See my response to Pam above - thanks for stopping by Karen!

@pcoulson Thanks so much for the kind words Peter. I think they are indeed the real deal, as are many in Tombstone. I don't often process with such a faded motif, but it just worked in this case. I was very happy that I forced myself to go that route!

@terryliv You may not realize how close you are to the truth Terry! See my response to Kali above - it's a bit frightening that people, grown people, really do this. :-O

@jorlam I think that's their version of having fun, to tell you the truth! The only way to make it better would be to win another gunfight! Thanks for the comments!

@simta Спасибо Татьяна. Они находятся определенно реальные ковбои, как многие из обычных жителей вокруг этой части Аризоны. Вам придется прийти и увидеть их в лицо некоторых день!

@pickerandagrinner Thanks Lou. Hey, I know that getting such HOF credentials is a very big deal for those folks. They are the real deal in that part of the county. Hearty congrats to your friend and her uncle.

@stray_shooter Trust me. I was only part joking. Donald would be so proud of them

The vintage processing really works well with this super shot. Their pose and attitude make it look so authentic.
