anyone remember that from one of the seinfeld episodes? hilarious, about the only one that i ever enjoyed with that show.
my get pushed partner this week is johanna @joa and here's an excerpt of her challenge: "I see that your shots tend to be full of life, action and busy living. Perhaps it's also the fact that you seem to like to fill the frame with all sorts of interesting details, colours and things to see. My challenge for you is to find serenity and calm from your surroundings, cutting the distractions out of the frame. I would love to see a really quiet street scene, for example. But I'll leave it up to you how to interpret this and find the "zen" in the shot."
left work early and tagged along with partner on a delivery outside of the city. we passed by this open area which still had a thin covering of snow. we were behind a nervous nelly and partner saw me surveying the area and plotting to compose my shot despite the 80 kilometres per hour drive so he slowed down a bit to let me capture this scenery.
i like the almost monotone colour of the shot, the fluffy clouds contrasting with the blue of the sky. notice the little footprints, i reckon a chipmunk or something really small. the shadow of the bare trees on the snowy ground. and then the electric pole which at first glance looked like a cross. winter could be depressing at times, but you just have to find the beauty in it. sceneries like this is enough to put me in a relaxed and calm mode.
once again, i thank you sincerely for your kind views and comments; i shall catch up on yours hopefully during the long weekend, if not sooner.
@summerfield haha - I've got another exhibit opening this friday in Vancouver, and I'm going to miss that one too, lol. People are going to start thinking I don't actually exist:)
Oh my... What a perfect scene for this time of year.. The 'cross', symbolizing new life and spring, contrasted with the bitter-cold, stark white snow. I think it's beautiful. You did exactly what Johanna suggested. It's such a meaningful photo. And in answer to your question: I'm honestly very flattered. Thank you. I'm not a writer. But I've always enjoyed writing. :) Does that make sense? There's so much talent on here, it makes me really try to get across how much I'm enjoying it. Thanks again for your photo and your comment.
I actually thought the telephone pole WAS a cross!
