this is the don valley parkway, one of toronto's majory traffic arteries. this is the northbound lane. this parkway is known for its hideous traffic jams. when i first came to toronto, this was known as "death valley parkway" due to a lot of fatal accidents that occurred around that time. it was said that the structure of the parkway made it dangerous to drive in but in the end it was determined that most of the accidents were driver errors or impatience. the entire 15 kilometres or 9.3 miles length of the parkway has a speed limit of 90 km/h or 56 mph only.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
While lovely, I personally think an arch so close to highways lanes would be a bit nerve wracking! Of course I equate "highway driving" to LA where you can be run down if you're not keeping up at about 80 MPH! No room for arches at that speed! It's a lovely perspective and interesting to contemplate!
We have some old highways near here where these type of arches exist as well. They are quite artistic for roadways! But also have a lot more character. Good shot.
I hope the speed limit helps to cut the accident rate down, some people are so impatient, they really shouldn't be drivers! I like the photo, nice perspective and processing.
This perspective lets you see a long way down the road and highlights the winding road beautifully! . i really like the arch which is much prettier than the overpasses I am used to seeing!
