i saw an elderly lady today on the bus. she wore a rather old fashioned coat, with flowery scarf that matched the colour of her purse. her shoes have seen better days but she looked clean and decent nonetheless. but what caught my interest was her new hat. i commented on it, told her she looked good with it. she smiled and thanked me and told me she's going to church. she always would buy a hat when she can afford it because she wanted to honour her friends and the Lord by coming to the service properly dressed and with a hat. the hat is important. it protects you from the weather and it makes you look good. i told her i used to wear hats all the time but that i got tired of running after it when it's blown away by the wind. she said, "then you have an excuse to get a new one!" she then lamented that people nowadays don't dress up properly anymore. when did we start wearing jeans or wearing 'almost nothing' to just about anywhere.
when i reached my stop, she told me i should wear hats again. and that gave me the idea that i should pull out the old hat and use it as a prop for today's shoot.
thank you for your visits and kind comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
I wore hats too- but at some point decided they were smooshing my hair down and stopped. Now that I don't have as much up top, I'm thinking I might need to revisit that fashion statement again! I like the vintage feel of this shot- very pretty!
Wonderful set up, I especially love the beads draped around the perfume. The hat is a nice touch in the background and yes you should wear hats again. LOL. FAV
