a snowy day at the beaches! by summerfield

a snowy day at the beaches!

managed to go near the lake this morning, but everything is white! it was also snowing rather heavy and there was a slightly strong wind and that made it a lot chillier in there. these people walk around with skis and ski poles.

meanwhile i slipped off a good 10 feet when i attempted to go down on thickly snowed-on steps. i was holding my camera on my right hand and my tripod on the left thinking i'd use it as a support going down the hills. good thing i was holding on to the railing and boy! that camera took a lot of beating from the iron railing as i slid down. i didn't know what i was thinking - i couldn't manage those steps during summer as they were quite steep! but i managed to do that standing up and boy, do my hips hurt right now!

and this is all i have to show you!

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
I love the composition..glad you made it ok!

This is a beautiful B&W capture. Thankfully your camera and you survived the fall. You may feel worse tomorrow . Take Care

@grammyn - yeah, i was suffering. suffering due to stupidity. hahahaha!
February 23rd, 2015
@grammyn @lesip - you should've seen me when i attempted to go back up the same way. and a young woman in skis asked if i could help her when she fell down and was going to roll down the hill but managed to grab a branch. i told her, 'i don't think so, buddy! you're on your own! why don't you just roll?' she could well see my right foot kept slipping off and my left leg was practically coiled around the railing trying to go up!

Glad you and the camera came through the ordeal. Your experiences are almost as fascinating as your photos, Vikki. :-) And that's a good thing!

It does sound treacherous and yet your image betrays none of that. Superb shot and congrats on the TP posting.

Superb composition! Lovely high key effect. I hope you are not going to be too sore for the next few days. The more I read about snow and how cold and slippery it is , the more I appreciate our warmer climate! Thankful that I do not have to deal with snow. It's bad enough when it is at the top of the mountains surrounding the valley.
February 23rd, 2015
Ouch! So glad to hear you survived. Love the high key shot.

This is such a great photograph! It reminded me of the early days of photography - as it has a very defined very retro feel to it. Wonderful.
