orange ice log by summerfield

orange ice log

this is not the photo i have in mind for today, especially that i braved the cold lunch hour to walk down to the market and took photos along the way. when i came home partner wanted to take me the beaches to take in the sunset that looked promising. (this morning i woke up to a really red sky as the sunrise was just gorgeous! so lesson learned - when sunrise is pretty, sunset sucks.)

we drove around looking for a nice vantage point. nothing. as i was taking pics of the marina in the distance, partner came with this big block of ice. and he wanted to bring it home. for me to take photos because the texture is just amazing, said he.

so we brought it home, put it in the freezer while i set up my table top. when i took it from the freezer, holy shit! that thing was darn heavy! it fell of course, whoda known it was that heavy? and broke into two. :-P

so director james cameron put lights in front, at the back, on the side, where the texture would show. i think he must've heard the girls cry because he said "what about your little toys? that would look nice." oh, my lord, what does he want from me now? so out come katy and little wahoo. i mean little wahoo and katy. and the girls told me could i put on some orange lighting because "orange is their favourite colour." really? yesterday it was red. "well, that was yesterday. today, it's orange. we're doing rainbow colours this week?"

argh!

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.

Love the colour and texture but still cannot figure it out lol

agreed on the necessity of photographing the fabulous texture, which the purple highlights show off really well. No problems for me with anyone having more than one favorite color. As they say, my favorite cat is the one in my lap ... (hmmm that analogy might not work for you would it)
