this is one of the display "cases" found in the penthouse suite of the Hart House hotel in Medina, NY which we toured last month courtesy of @olivetreeann 's friend. i am having this printed in stretched canvass for my living room. the display case was actually a wooden step ladder and these old books along with that worn out old 'safe box' are among its inhabitants.
i have also processed this in sepia and old colour and will send it to the manager as they asked if they can have copies of some of the photos we took. i hope at least one of mine would make it in their website.
about the books. the rooms in the hotel have all these old books on display. apparently they bought them in britain from rummage sales solely for the purpose of displaying them in the rooms.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated. as well, thankful for your generous favs on yesterday's pears portrait. you folks are awesome!
I knew the INSTANT I saw this exactly where it was and who took it! I'm still looking at the photos I took there and marveling at what a great experience it was. Still noodling with that fund-raiser/workshop idea. Hmmm....how to do it!? Great job with the processing! I think they're going to like this one!
Lovely capture and processing - has a timeless feel to it. I hope they recognise brilliant pics when they see them and use all your pictures on their website :)
You have such an artistic eye for composition! It is truly a wall worthy shot and I'm so glad you have it hung in your home for the memories it will evoke and as a testimony to your skills!
This is *everything I love* right here in this image! What a lovely vintage feel this has, and a gorgeous composition! DEFINITELY this deserves to be hung on one of your walls! And you KNOW those people are going to be doing flips to get your photos! Yes yes yes! xo!
What a wonderful experience this must have been!! I can just see an entire wall at the hotel lobby with all of these snippets of the rooms exhibited side by side! Wonderful composition and processing! So proud of you, and happy that you are taking this to the next level!
