gambas al ajillio con chili means spicy garlic shrimp. that's the one on top. the bottom is called bicol express, shrimp (or fish or meat) stewed in coconut oil and spiced with chili peppers. bicol is a region in the southeastern peninsula of the main island of luzon in the philippines which is noted for their very spicy food. and spicy in that land, if you are not from there, means you need to have the fire department on standby because you would end feeling you're breathing out fire. but both of these are good especially when eaten with boiled or steamed rice, hot preferably. ☺☺
and if you're distressed because you ate something really spicy, drink milk and it would instantly ease off the spiciness in your palate. trust me.
Wow do those look good! Are they your preparations?! I can't "do spicy" in the extreme anymore, but I enjoy a little kick and the ingredients sound delicious! A quick peek and it looks like you're on a food binge this week! Yummo
@Weezilou - hey, it's my dear louise! i was just by your album. do we have esp or what! no, those are from the restaurant the other day. yes, i'm doing food this week. and yes, next time i come i will bring my cooking utensils!
@grammyn - the bottom one is made with pure coconut milk. i'm not so much into food with coconut milk or coconut for that matter. thanks, girlfriend. i'll make you the top one when you come to toronto. ☺
May I have the recipe for the bottom one?
