i watched it as it slowly rose out of the water only to be eaten up by the clouds in the horizon. as i watched, i thought it had an odd shape. at first i thought it was the clouds but then i realized it was probably waning now. i didn't even see it being full all this time. so before uploading i checked the moonrise website and it was indeed waning at 92.9%. but the clouds did aid in the distorted shape of the moon.
the rainbow poster i made yesterday had been a project i had in mind to give to one of my friends at the office. but of course that won't happen as we are still in lockdown mode and although a lot of businesses have been permitted to resume operations (with some rules), our office in toronto remain closed, until it's been determined that it is safe for everyone to come back. the office, however, is organizing its own pride parade in the absence of the city's annual one which had been cancelled due to the pandemic. so in the next few days i will have to make a short video with that poster so i can submit it. i don't really know what to do to make a video interesting, any suggestions? i also wanted to display it behind me when i attended our zoom service this morning in the spirit of 'pride sunday'.
tonight, when i went out to the balcony to shoot the moon, i have completely forgotten about the giant bee from last night. then when i was uploading the photos, i heard consistent soft tapping and i went to inspect if it was the bee. it would have been chaos had i managed to bring it inside as these insects can always latch on to your clothing. this time it was a large moth that looked like a owl butterfly -- it had spots that looked like eyes. i shudder at the thought that either that or the giant bee could've latched onto my dress and brought it inside.
Well I guess then that it was the bees fault that you ended up with a squashed moon. But no matter, squashed is interesting. Hopefully for you, bee and moth remain safely on the right side of the door.
