a few of the cards i have received this week. one lady always sends me the same card every time. i already have 2 of the flowery card and both came from her. 😜
we had a "townhall" meeting and we definitely would not be going back working in the office until september, and that even then, attendance would be voluntary and subject to an "app" certifying us that we are "well" and safe to go in, in the interest of keeping everyone else in attendance safe from the virus. if the "freedom" and "privacy" preservers/advocates would have any cause for apoplexy, this is it. i, myself, don't mind, but there will be those who would oppose it. an acquaintance said it's almost like communist russia, but i was quick to point out that he also opposes usage of terms that are prejudicial, you know, as he is an adherent of the politically correct terms. i don't understand why these people could liken the situation to communism and i think it is just plain stupid. ask the common people in russia (there, i will be crucified for the use of "common people" even when i am one of them albeit i'm not russian) especially those who had lived communism in its early stages, and they would see how lucky they are that only their temperature is being monitored. the young generation does not understand how greatly lucky they are to live in democracy.
It's hard to understand the way that some people are reacting to things put in place to keep them safe. Our isolation has worked well for us so far but we can't afford to become complacent especially during our Winter months.
Nice memories in en every card we receive. I too receive the same card each year from a friend with a slight twist. I send the card to her for her birthday and she returns it to me for mine and so it continues. When will the world learn that we are all equal and thinking of the greater good for all is not a bad thing?
@randystreat - the camera card and the window/brick card were handmade or personally made, but i know the pink card is commercial type and the lady probably had a box of it bought and she probably mistook me for one of the other girls in the office who likes pink. don't get me wrong, i appreciate her sending me the cards, i just find it funny she's sent me the same thing twice in a row.
They are very nice but the handmade ones are the best! I am trying not to think about the rest of your post. A whole year of this is too much BUT I am not complaining about a lack of privacy or freedom as long as I am living. Privacy hardly existis in this technological age anyway!
Ha! I recognize the card story. My parents sent my kids a real card every year for their birthdays, but often they were the same cards. They didn't remember, but because they were the only one cards my kids received they were saved... and so we had a good laugh.
