the light was not ideal at this time of day but i was there and this was there, too, so i just had to suck it up and just tried to get the best angle to shoot. 'there' was actually one of the neighbourhood gardens i passed by today on my way to the bus stop.
a first cousin who was back in the old country died this morning from cancer of the pancreas. he was 69. he was the oldest of 3 children of my father's youngest sister and was quite close to my older brother when we were much younger back in the old country. his sister, who is older than me by a mere three months, was greatly distraught as their other sister also passed away a few years ago, so now she is all alone. in her distress she asked that we make a pact, the two of us, that we will live until we're 90, no more, no less. i don't think i want to live til 90 though. i'd be all pruny and wrinkly and dried up.
This rose is beautiful. Sorry to hear about your cousin, pancreatic cancer is a particularly nasty cancer. I would be happy to live to 190 if I still had all my faculties
The rose is gorgeous and I am not sure why you didn't like the light! It looks perfect to me unless you have worked some unseen magic on it as only you can do.
The loss of loved ones forces us to face our own mortality and sometimes it can be disconcerting. I am sorry for your loss and hope his sisteer lives as long as she wants to.
