i have been watching too many painting tutorials most of which are really boring. one artist just goes on and on and on in monosyllabic fashion, and although he is obviously american, his speech is so unclear i couldn't understand what the heck he is saying. when i finally couldn't bear it anymore, switched to another tutorial about creating textures which was short and more educational and interesting, shall we say.
i have found a couple of my simpler landscape photographs that i can attempt to put in canvas. i've been studying the colours and i hope to be able to pull it off.
our cases are alarmingly rising and indoor dining is still not allowed, but they do allow the gyms to open up, albeit with physical distancing. one of my favourite restaurants have finally given up and closed their doors permanently. i had plans of going to my hairdresser to shorten my hair a bit but she felt bad she couldn't accommodate me until next week.
tagging this belatedly for week 47 of the 52-week challenge. the challenge this week is to combine 2 previous prompts for a photo. lazy so-and-so that i am, i chose week 4's "green" prompt and week 33 theme of "abstract". need i say more?
Wow! I love the colors and the boldness of the strokes. I recently tried an impressionistic composition, but it just lacks something. I don't know what.
Did you use a brush (looks like it) or a palette knife?
Those dang Americans, so hard to understand ;-D
I find it most irritating when paid instructors are so boring. They may know their stuff, but who cares when we fall asleep trying to follow them?! Glad you moved on, this is super!
@monikozi - would you believe it, but it's a piece of cardboard. you put dabs of paints randomly on the canvas then with the cardboard you push the colours up to make this pattern. i find it rather cool!
@summerfield so the cardboard is basically the tool. This is shoo awesome. I like the paintings with profiled paint, impasto - or something like that.
I started up with all the painting learning because of a painting with poppies i want to make. It's been about 6 months now since i started and i still didn't give the press the try...

I feel the Covid situation is going to get worse before it gets better. All we can do is hang on.
