a puddle reflection, à la ray metzker, the featured artist in the artist challenge. not an exact replica but an emulation of one of his shots where a building was reflected on the hood of a car; whereas this was a puddle on the road on my way to the st. lawrence market.
metzker's work kind of mirrors the photographs of @northy -- bold contrasts in black and white that images border on the abstract. i like his silhouette shots of people amidst tall buildings. i should try and capture similar images one day that i am working in the office. the skyscrapers of toronto, though not comparable to chicago or new york, have an attraction all their own. the northster and i should go down there again one day and do some street and architectural photo-ing.
if you have noticed, i don't play the challenges anymore unless i'm ordered by @grammyn 🤣 but thankfully not threatened by death yet. since i was politely and nicely asked to enter the minimal and mundane challenges, i thought i'd also put in an entry for one of my favourite challenges here on 365 which is the artist challenge.
this is a filler, no need to comment, but if you feel the need to, i thank you very much.
A very effective results. You have such mad artistic skills and an amazing eye for creativity that it is a shame to not enter the challenges occasionally. Thanks for succumbing with this excellent composition!
I think it’s a beautiful shot. Love the pov and the sharp contrasts. What intrigues me the most though is the title. It looks like a reflection of a building, but it’s a reflection of a mural. Very interesting.
