this is a short walkway above queen street that connects the toronto eaton centre to the building that houses saks 5th avenue and the hudson bay store. it used to look crappy but in recent years they renovated it, perhaps to make saks 5th avenue more appealing, because it's saks!
i'm off today as i needed to use up my vacation days otherwise they'd be forfeited at the end of the year. the day started out crappy and i was resigned to the fact that i won't be able to go for my morning walk as last night it rained most of the time and the wind was fierce. which would've made the ground kind of icy and i didn't want to walk in the dark not seeing the condition of the pavement. so i set out to do some painting. finished two-and-a-half paintings, very similar though, that is why. but towards noon, the weather looked a tad better and because the temperature was just under plus 8, i set out to go for the walk. my body was craving it severely. i was ready to brave the crowd at the mall just so i could have a walk, but i'm happy i've been lucky so far. i'd be happy if winter would stick to just some snow and not too low temps. but then again, that wouldn't be winter, n'est-ce pas?
What a great walkway, love the signs pointing in the direction you're supposed to walk. Maybe that woman stopped to tell the guy to walk on the other side, maybe she's on the wrong side too ;-)
Looks exactly like the walkway at London Bridge Station here in London. Nice to get off the road and traffic these days and out of the weather briefly!
Terrific light and composition!
