page 118, The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Hoover Bartlett
the word today is "moment" - as in a specific point in time. moment as in now. there are stolen moments. just a moment. moment of truth. moment of reckoning.
at the park, i espied this little girl with her father in a hammock they tied around the trunk of a tree and a lamp post. their bikes (not captured here) and shoes were on the grass beside them. it was a beautiful day, and people were just soaking in the very temperate weather, stealing a moment for what maybe the last beautiful summery day of the year. this is, of course, another one of my sneak shots. i couldn't get a better shot because there were a lot of people at the park and some of them were looking at me like i'm one of those people who are sick in the head.
wait a minute, how come the girl is not in school?!? hmmm...interesting.
lovely colours and relaxed feel....can't wait to get home to my hammock and lazy sunny days...been bit chilly here in NZ, lots of rain and now I have a cold (and I really hate snot). so this photo has cheered me up immensely dear friend!!
@sunnygreenwood - i could've played hookie, too, why didn't i think of that instead of going back to the office after lunch? lol! thank you, anne.
@danig - oh, you're still in there. i thought you were going to be gone for only two weeks. sorry to hear you got a cold, but i'm glad i'm able to cheer you up. should i do a happy dance to cheer you up some more? :-D
@danig - okay, but if you must know, i have two left feet for dancing! so i just might do an elaine bennett then you can laugh hard! holiday to recover? come to manila in november! :-)
sneaky vikki strikes again -- just love it! Love the mood it creates. And a good day for playing hookey.......! I think a hookey day for you is in order, too!!
@cscecil - hahaha! i used to be called that a long time ago! i already played hookey last week. might get noticed if i do it on a regular basis.:-) thanks, CS.
You caught a beautiful moment here, summerfield! You have a great eye for that "word." In fact, your many descriptions of "moment" should make alot of people stop and think. Great one.
Thanks Summerfield (Vikki) for the follow! I really appreciate it! I think you did a great job of capturing the moment! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your book-word-challenge!
@karenann - perhaps i can add 'moment of sneakiness' or a 'moment of playing hookie'. thank you, karenann.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. this little community has a lot of talented members that serve as inspiration and rouses one's creativity. will try not to fall on the wayside of this challenge. thanks again.
@alia_801 - i love this 'mirror' frame in picnik so i use it for effects like this. to me this has a feel of one looking out the window. thank you, alia.
@patticake - i always say that myself. but once i have some kind of a free time or a lull in whatever i do, i get bored and i try to find something else to do. thank you, patti.
