page 122, The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Hoover Bartlett
the word today is yellow. page 121 had only one and a half lines so i'm skipping it to get to my 12th line.
yellow as in the leaves turning yellow before they fall or before they turn into red. like the leaves in the trees in this photo which i took last monday during our drive around the countryside. yellow as in the dividing line on the road as shown here; yellow as in the road sign indicating people are crossing. in the office and at home, we use the yellow pages, probably not as much as we did because we now have the internet. the line in the book actually contained the words "Yellow Pages". when you don't take care of your liver, you turn yellow, or jaundice. yellow is the dominant hue in gold. and children, when you don't brush your teeth, they turn yellow. oh, i'm getting gross now. i better stop before i get meself incriminated here.
so there you are, folks: yellow!
(processed in picnik)
Love that you used the highway "yellow!" for your photo. People rarely stop to think much about the yellow line and the yellow signs. Yet these are the small things that prevent many accidents. And it's all taken for granted. Great work, summerfield.
@bkbinthecity - thanks, bkb. hey, edmonton river is featured by sympatico as one of the best destinations for fall colours. i'll be looking forward to your fall pics!
@alia_801 - thank you, alia. you noticed the red motorcycle, eh?
then there's sunshine yellow, too! Love this -- the shadow and the light - -and all the yellow!!! (Think I'll go brush my teeth, just in case.....!) hahahaha!
@patticake - thanks, patti. my partner was telling me not to include the signs and he'd tell me where to stand so i can take a shot without them. but of course my perspective is different than his. his is good, too, but i end up posting what i feel is the best shot and fits the theme at the same time.
@eddyj - hey, eddy. the season changed and you showed up! thanks for your comment.
@espyetta - oh, fancy that! now that you've said it, yes, indeed! thanks, MB.
much appreciated, ladies.
@alia_801 - thank you, alia. you noticed the red motorcycle, eh?
