"like a lover, the velvet moon
shares your pillow and watches while you sleep
its light arrives on tiptoe
gently taking you in its embrace
oh, how i dream
i might be like the velvet moon to you..."
- sergio mendez and the brazil 77
the moon's been teasing me for several mornings now. i want to go in the next few days and capture it once again as it rises from the lake water. this morning when i left the apartment, it's the first thing i saw in the beautiful clear morning sky. and this is about the only shot i've done, apart from my blue willow shot (see: http://365project.org/summerfield/365-again/2012-08-07 ) just that too much is happening all at once. but i have specifically told all concerned, there's no way i'm giving up my hobby. houston, we have a problem. hahaha!
partner is slowly recovering. i accompanied him to the doctor's and he's now on anti-biotics and we'll know the results of the blood and urine tests by friday, hopefully. and hopefully the tests come back negative. thank you for your get well wishes.
thank you for your visits and kind comments; much appreciated.
Nice one- I think my temp camera is same as yours? I had tried a little Sony P&S but I like this one better. I took a moon like this Monday- it worked.
@jannkc - thank you, jann. yours is the younger sibling of my p&s. handy and functional, ain't it? i like the dSLR for fast shooting, but i like the results more with the powershot. it can make a great back up for you.
That is one gorgeous and romantic moon ...lovely framed like this! I didn't know that your wonderful partner was ill .. just hope that all is o.k. by now! You are such a lovely and kind person, summerfield. Don't ever stop taking photos and sharing your stories. You are special.
@catsmeowb - thank you, camille. romantic? this was actually shot at 10 in the morning. i don't know what is happening with this darn canon camera, it changes time and date whenever it wants.
@karenann - thank you, KA; you're so kind. yes, partner's been ill since sunday but he's now taking medication so he's a tad better, better enough to go back to work today. he's sturdy, i don't think he's going to leave me alone just like that. :-) as to taking photos, sometimes i wonder when i will stop, it's taken over my life for sure and the stories in my head are all jumbled up now. although, i'm hoping dixie would inspire me to go back to the writing board again - i'm reading her new book. makes me jealous but at the same time thinking that i should just really sit down and write. thanks again, my friend.
@alia_801 - thank you, alia. the med's doing wonderful things; he's yakking at me already. haha!
@myautofocuslife - thank you, livia. crouched on the ground to get the little branch in the shot.
@danig - thank you, DG. so far so good.
