this is from the same plaza as the blue Christmas tree from three nights ago. these are supposed to be polar bears, the kind that was in that coca-cola commercial from several years ago. these here were papa bear, mommy bear and baby bear, like in the story of goldilocks, but the bears in goldilocks were brown bears though.
there was a real-life goldilocks somewhere in the plaza, too, that i spotted after this - she was wearing a really short mini-skirt, a six-inch pair of heels, a faux-fur jacket too small for her bosom that were brimming over her low cut blouse and incredibly fake blonde hair. yes, she was turning tricks, and no, not magic tricks, the other kind of tricks. aherm!
i had to shoot this in autofocus as it was quite difficult to focus on those thousands of led lights. i also had to blur that monitor on the left. shot handheld.
I love how you can't really see the frame of the animals and it really looks like they're just all lights. I don't know how to explain it, but I love it!
@lemonsforsale - thank you, amy. the papa bear's frame is quite visible as i was too near it. i had to stand closer or people just walk through and it would've been difficult to get a clear shot. maybe i should go back there in the early morning as there's always a lot of people there at night. but i'm glad you like it. thanks again.
@henrir - thank you, henri. you need to rest your camera on a steady surface or a small tripod. look out for sales at camera stores, you can get a decent one for under $30. i once got a medium gorillapod but it didn't work out well for me as i almost lost my p&s camera to the mud.
Nice one! I have to go out and shoot some lights around our neighborhood and it's the first time I'm wishing I had a tripod because I can't seem to hold my hand steady any more!
