My good friend Lis @foxes37 has an amazing display of hollyhock every year. A couple of years ago Lis gave me some seed which I planted. They all germinated and I planted them out. They don't seem to like our garden but a few have survived and this is the first one to flower this year. I'm so pleased.
Lovely colour, it reminds me of brightly coloured candies somehow. Hollyhocks never seemed to like my garden either, them and foxglove. I suspect the wrong kind of soil for their preference.
