I have spent most of my life being castigated, ridiculed, attacked, fired, mistreated and generally abused because I have always shown a complete lack of respect for authority. I have always been a political activist, a protester, a demonstrator, a rabble rouser a writer of protest songs and a thorn in the side of those who have tried to silence me.
I have sat and watched as just about every authority figure I have ever known has been proven to be corrupt, money grabbing, self seeking and morally bankrupt....... The Politicians, the press, the church, the police, the big companies, the aristocracy and the landed gentry, going right back to my old headmaster at school.
Will they ever realise that respect is not the God given right of the ruling elite and the powers that be?....... It is a thing that has to be earned.
I suspect not.
Come the revolution I'm ready to take my turn on the barricades. :)

@swillinbillyflynn I joined late so I missed the 'early days' but what I witnessed during the near collapse was a lack of honesty, openness and responsibilty, things you mention in your excellent rant. about the vagaries of poor management.
