Mundane challenge #9 was proposed to focus on language, a taken-for-granted part of our lives and thus 'ordinary' and the challenge is to make it the 'star.' Several posted objections to whether language can be mundane, simply because it's so much a part of everyday life. That led me to this photo -- I love the book's title, how language creates worlds. I combined that with a Native American storyteller doll to try to capture the idea of people creating worlds through language, and through story, sharing these worlds across generations.
This is a lovely pic and does the right things for me. All stories should start with "Once upon a time..." and end with "...and they lived happily ever after."
