Two challenges were in my head -- Mull Over March word was texture, and the Me March was Something I like to do at work. So I had my point and shoot with me in a class I was observing (hoping for an 'at work' shot). Instead, this wall hanging caught my attention -- I liked the textures in the weaving, and it's sort-of symmetrical face. Not the most inspiring day of photography but I've learned that challenges are really a huge help on a day like this.
@steampowered@anwan Thank you! I did some post-processing to turn the background to black from its original blue, and sharpen the color contrasts to the coppery tones you see. Your comments make me feel that was a good choice.
You might have thought this was not an inspiring photo but when this photo popped up on my screen, my thought was, "ooohhhh -- love that angle with that turtle seeming to pop up out of water!"
@jyokota Aw...thanks, as always! I think the mood we are in when we take a photo can shape the way we think it looks, until we see it through someone else's eyes. One of the reasons this site is so powerful.

Anwan, I used very simply processing. I think I got the background more black by a combination of two things: (1) increasing blackpoint and (2) decreasing exposure. I can't remember for sure, as I fooled around with WB because the colors were off initially. I think blackpoint was the key, though.
