I went back to our neighbor's garden this afternoon to check out the other little flowers in the yard, thinking of the 'new life' theme. These were bigger then the grape hyacinths (mysterious little flower that Paul cleared up for me), maybe 3" tall, and just beginning to unfold.
Thank you all for visiting the Mysterious Little Flower from yesterday, commenting and fav'ing. It ended up on the PP which was very encouraging and I do appreciate your support.
I love the vertical linear emphasis and your soft focus and tones. It's so tricky to have a calm background in either a garden shot or a city shot but you achieved it and it really adds to the peacefulness in this photo.

Thank you all for visiting and commenting. Wendy, I appreciate your noting the 'sister image' as I worked hard to figure out how to get it into the photo in this way.
Annette -- you're right about that -- backgrounds are either too many flowers, too much dirt, too much driveway! I think that's why I was trying (as several of you noted) to have a very shallow DOF, so that would all be blurred out except the other little tulip.
@sgiesman Thanks Sarah -- curves/color were what I was going for - glad you noticed!
@corymbia Thanks -- I love the lens for that reason.
