I've been wanting to photograph and post something from the trestle that I'd noticed when I took the photo "City in Bloom" on May 5th. Behind the beautiful dogwood trees was the rusted bridge area. So, today, on my way back from the last few errands before heading to northern Michigan, I stopped there again. While to me, it represents so many problems with not investing in our country's infrastructure, there's also a weird beauty I can see in the rusty decay.
I also thought it would be fun for the EOTB theme.
PS Thank you all for your wonderful comments and such kind words re the TT shots. I set a timer and only allowed myself 30 minutes to comment today as I have to finish last bits of packing and get some sleep in case Jim decides to turn over the driving to me at some point (never a wise choice -- there's a reason we moved 2 blocks from our office with easy access to public transportation for me!). So, unless I can get good reception to comment using my phone from the car tomorrow, I'll be back late Sunday or Monday. Have a good holiday weekend, my US friends and a good weekend to all elsewhere.
Ooohh...nice! I'm glad you found time to go back and get this shot. The colours are amazing and your perspective is great. Happy and safe travels to you and Jim :)
@eyesmile thanks Gena! We are.in the car on our way to beaver island Michigan. We have been spending summers there since 1991. Started doing this when we taught at MSU but back then it was an easy weekend trip. Since we moved to Chicago we just go for the summer. Bit it's like a move since we don't get home again til August.
Thanks Jackie, Jim, Daryl, and Jeff (and for the fav, Jeff). I really appreciate your support and comments.
