Most of this evening we were socked in, very dense fog. Toward sundown, the sun started polking through but it was still very foggy. I took several shots because of the hint of clouds through the mist and have spent the past 2 hours using different processing filters to bring out the light and color (had the ETSOOI11-Light in mind; June word - bright colors; theme-hot). Some of them were deep blues and purples using the exact same filters as this image. I went with this one since it fit into all three themes/challenges (yes, lazy me). Taken off the deck looking northwest.
BTW, thank you for your well wishes re the splinter saga...am definitely on the mend!
Update 6/18: wow! finalist (one of 9) in EOTOOI-11 competition!

Thanks Kerri, Scott, and MaryBeth! I appreciate your ongoing support! Scott -- thanks for the 'as always' -- that made my evening!!
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann! Actually, the fog was like a thick soup for over two days in a row. Totally white -- I tried to capture in film but it basically looked like a poorly focused scene of a beach! I couldn't get anything interesting when it was that thick. It wasn't until the sun had burned off a bit that the layers could be brought out.
This works on so many different levels. First just as sheer beauty, second the lighting, third the contrasting elements and textures which interact and compliment each other. Real FAV
For Get Pushed, how about a lovely flower in Black and White? You can get some great results with just tone contrasts in many situations.
Thank you all for viewing this shot! It was fun to process and see what was behind the flat light.
