1. (Jim): Taffy, wake up, we need to get going. And the rug and table on the roof look really good. Go up and look -- and take your camera.
2. (Me): Huh?
3. J: take your camera, you'll be glad you did. just go...
And he was so right! I have not seen a sunrise in...um...I'm sure I have at some point in my life. But I'm not an early riser (that may be an understatement). But, it was beautiful! So, I'm thinking I may try to shift, at least in fall while it's still nice up on the roof in the morning, and try to become a morning person! I took several photos as the sun came up, then hurried down to help pack the car and head up north (to Beaver Island).
My extras album captures our landing on the island: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-08-30
@maggiemae Thanks Maggiemae! It should be a fun weekend -- seeing some friends for dinners, doing a photo walk on Sunday, and hopefully getting all my reading done for classes this week!
@pflaume Thanks Lisa! Yes, I'm lucky he'll do that for me. He's been remarkably supportive about this project, though I suspect assumes it will be over in a few months.
Love your comp with the buildings growing higher to the left and those gorgeous rays peeking out from the building against that wonderfully colored sky!
@archaeofrog Exactly -- and it helps being on the western edge of the time zone too. Sunrise in Michigan this morning was more like 5:30 a.m. Less civilized to have to get up then!
Yay Jim! My husband goaded me outside tonight to see a very interesting spider/prey scene. This is stunning. I love the "half-flare" happening and the calm of the sky. Very beautiful. Love your skies, you know!
@pamknowler Thanks so much for the fav, Pam! And thanks for the kind words re the weekend -- it has been a joy so far. I keep forgetting I have work to get done!! As soon as we got here, I found myself switching into photography as my 'work' to do!
@bardejov Aw...thanks for liking my Chicago stuff! I'll be back to posting mostly Chicago once we head back on Monday. How long since you left the city?
@thirtysevenways Thanks so much not only for the enthusiastic fav of this shot, but for all your kind comments on the others. It's such a boost, especially knowing with the holiday almost over, it's work time again and less 365 time ahead. Thank you!!
@taffy you know I'm a big fan but just don't have the time everyday to comment. I am however at home with two sick children so I am commenting like crazy while the rest quietly :)
@thirtysevenways Heehee...so having to stay home with sick little ones has some advantages...as long as they are sleeping! Have a good week and hopefully they'll be better soon.
Beautiful! FAV! Love how the sun rays go downward . . . is that what happens in the morning (she, who does NOT ever see sunrises asks . . .) And great for Jim for getting you up to take this fabulous photo!
I am glad Jim woke you to see this!
