Today's word of the day is 'dog' and of course, it made me a bit sad when I saw that. But as I passed the fountain in our neighborhood as I was walking to work, I thought about how much Nutmeg liked hanging out here and took a photo. Then, I thought about my get pushed challenge, to photograph an unusual angle of an everyday subject and took a few more. My favorite unusual angle is in my extras/challenges album - http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-08-29.
I'm love how 365's challenges and themes push my thinking in new directions.
Tomorrow we're off to Beaver Island for the holiday weekend! I wish you all a great weekend and look forward to viewing and commenting.
This is very interesting and I do like the effect.
I am glad your Nutmeg had such a wonderful life with people who loved her - and you have such fond memories. Have a wonderful weekend on Beaver Island.
I liked the (though brief) conversations with Nutmeg... This pic is a very nice remembrance I think. I love the angle you've chosen and the processing too!
A gorgeous abstract - great pov and processing!! Love the flow of the water!! It's good that you have so many places where you have happy memories of Nutmeg!! Have a great weekend on Beaver Island!!
Thank you all so much for commenting on this photo. I appreciated the range from enthusiastic to ambiguous. The background I didn't put in -- I had showed it to Jim because I was really quite pleased with it, and his reaction was totally the opposite of what I had expected. He thought I was kidding, didn't like it, and essentially said that I should post what I want (of course -- but clearly he did not like it). I almost didn't post it, but then figured why not, since I really do like it. So, I did find it interesting to see the range of response! Anyway, thanks!
@busylady And Judith -- thanks for asking! You're right about hard to stay away from the island, but the work week went okay. I like the courses I'm teaching and seem to have good groups this semester, and some great teaching apprentices. But putting in long work days did make me long for the island pace!
Have a great weekend! I'm staying up late this Saturday night trying to catch up--like that EVER happens, but I wanted to get to your photos so I don't fall behind with what you are doing. I like this. Ah, Nutmeg, I loved hearing about him again, even if in remembrance--this photo does the memory justice. :)
@darylo Thanks Daryl, for viewing multiple photos -- I know how busy you must be! Good luck on catching up. It seems an impossible task. I'm taking today to do 365 -- photographing and commenting. It's felt like such a treat!
Pushing your thinking in new directions is pushing my thinking as well 'cuz I had no idea what this was at first glance! haha. But I love that about this photo, excellent abstract!
