This flowering plant is growing in our tiny little urban front yard and doing very well. I liked the way these two blossoms at the very top of the bush seemed to be bathing in the sunlight. I also thought it would be fun to see these as they were the outcome of the 'mentors' in my shot from early spring ( http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-05-09).
Two beautiful flowers bathing in the light! Lovely capture! It's great to see how this little plant survived the bad weather and what it looked like last spring.
Very cool followup! I take it the others eventually broke off as these expanded? Perhaps they are now ready to take the place and outlast the coming winter.
@kazlamont Thanks Kazzy -- I hesitated to post initially, as it was the 'same' subject, but then thought that I'd like to have them both for myself in the project.
@archaeofrog It was interesting to look at the plant from the perspective of last spring's shot - I remember taking it as the semester was ending, early May. The angle of the two new flowers is almost identical to where the old ones were hanging on. And all over the bush, there is no sign of any of the old brown remnants.
@olivetreeann I couldn't remember if it were the Rose of Sharon or the hibiscus! I thought it was the former, but figured if I wrote that in, it would have been the other! Thanks for clearing this up!
I seem to be so behind on your project Taffy, I am just trying to catch up on all your wonderful shots. I love the light in this, beautiful detail and colour too! Thanks for your continuing support on mine, I really do appreciate it.
