Today: Rubrics for grading are ready. A few papers are scored from class 1. Big block of time tomorrow for scoring with my TAs for class 2. One more meeting for the semester. We leave for Hawaii on Monday. It is the light at the end of the tunnel!
This was taken -- subway station where I was transferring -- on the way to Zoo Lights for night photos, but it wasn't a public Zoo Light night, it was a private party (who could afford to rent the Zoo????) and I was escorted out by a security guard (who was nice enough to let me take a few photos). No time to process tonight, but hoping to process some tomorrow and Saturday.
Other shots for today:

2. Squirrel Dreams - http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-12-12
You are good at shooting your moods and thoughts, this really says there´s light at the end of the tunnel. And what light, Hawaii! Oh that sounds so heavenly! Oh and what a treat it will be to us to see those gorgeous holiday pics! Do take a few pics of the sunset for us, please!
@mzzhope Thanks Hope! We finished one set of papers today and I can enter grades tonite after dinner. Then one more for tomorrow and I can start celebrating my birthday, hard though it is to recognize I'm officially retirement age!
@leonbuys83 Yes, Leon, definitely handheld and not my choice of lens usually for this kind of shot. But I'd had it on for the birds for the past few days and was on my way to the zoo, so hadn't bothered changing it. There was a fairly big element of luck in this shot!
What a great choice to tell the story of the end of the semester, and the beginning of an adventure! Am feeling it too - one more class of finals to grade and then a trip to Oregon to see my daughter graduate!
hmmm.... looks to me like the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train ;p Hawaii sounds cool... as does renting out the zoo... now there's a party!
@northy I had to respond -- usually I just comment on your shots. But you have to know that I read your comment, burst out laughing until Jim actually asked me what was so funny, showed him the photo and read your comment and he laughed as well. Thank you so much for such a good laugh at the end of a day that started with a TT (yay), then found out our refrigerator is unrepairable so we had to buy a new one via emergency, then graded papers with my TAs all afternoon, just finished entering them a few minutes ago. One more class to go but I can't see straight...So LOVED your comment and am off to bed with a smile.
Fantastic. Love the POV, the starburst train lights and the reflections. The guy on the right blocking the view of the platform only enhances the rest of the shot. Brilliant, fav.
@taffy oh dear.... sounds like it's been piling up on you! but i'm glad i gave you reason to laugh! my response was in part because i did a shot very much like this last march when a project took a left turn into lala land... http://365project.org/northy/365/2013-03-08
ps - why do fridges pick december to crap out? it just occurred to me that our fridge is almost exactly one year old having been purchased last december when our old one curled up its toes...
This is tremendous! I love the people huddle in the foreground, looking down the tracks... Sorry about the zoo being closed! And..you get to go to Hawaii? I am so jealous!
Very cool tunnel shot. Love the lights of the train coming toward the viewer! Amazing how a whole zoo can be rented. All the animals invited to the private party and you get kicked out. lol.
