Taken last night just before I was escorted out of Lincoln Park Zoo by a security guard to protect (apparently) the attendees at a private party there (in single digit temperatures outside!) from my photo activity. Long exposure to capture the trees which looked like they were dancing as lights flashed on and off. Edited with Color Efex and Aperture.
More important, thank you for your comments and favs which put my Sunshine on a Cold Winter Day photo on TT this week! I'm very grateful for your support!
Get Pushed -- I finally caught a bird in flight without losing all the details! http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-12-13
Memory shot - tonight's dinner: http://365project.org/taffy/special-photos/2013-12-14
Lovely processing and super with the long exposure - colors are fab. Surprised about being escorted from the zoo - don't people take pics in places like that? Sheesh!
@jankoos I should have explained it better -- the zoo was actually closed but I thought it was one of the Zoo Light nights. Instead it was a private party. So the guard let me stay until guests arrived and when I tried to squeeze in one more long exposure, he was nice about it but firm, and said no -- then escorted me until I left the premises. It could have been worse! Thanks for your visits and kind comments tonight!
Yes, dancing trees, I love it!! I can just see them swaying in the wind, turning their lights on and off! Oh, and about the guard, yes, it could have been worse....he could have put you in a cage with the other animals until the guests of honor departed!
There is a really interesting light to this! That was nice of the guard to let you take a few shots. I guess he realized you weren't there to take photos of the people. Great shot and congratulations on the TT!
@nanalisarocks Thank you so much, Lisa! You were definitely the first to fav, and perhaps the reason others fav'd as well. I'm so excited about the response to this shot. It was so worth getting 'in trouble' with the security guards to get the shot!
@genesis_one You are too kind, Corrie! I really appreciate your support -- thanks for the fav on this one! I'm glad I was able to sneak it in before being kicked out!
Incredible photo, love the composition. Was the guard watching over you while you set up a long exposure? You must have great composure, I'd have snapped and run off in haste! fav.
@taffy I was getting better and not doing as bad as I was as this lingers. Been caught up in the season, getting things done at my slow pace. Have been going to the park once a week, taking photos and will have to post one. Wish I would see something like this or something different though I enjoy the park so much. So hard since I do not drive to get out and see different things to photograph. I need to take a walk down the street and take some photos of our neighbors lights or just some of our decorations.
