When flying, I avoid the window seat. When in the window seat I don't look out. It is a rule I have (freely admit it may not be rational) about flying that has clearly worked as I'm still safe. BUT, today I made the huge step as we boarded the plane. And wow, the scenery between Chicago and Las Angeles is quite amazing. And, if the alternative is grading papers, processing photos is a great way to make the time go by. I'm not sure which part of the Rockies this is, but it wasn't sunset, and it was taken through a dirty window, so many thanks to Color Efex, Aperture, and Topaz! Probably over the top, but that's what having an hour in a confined space can do to you (or to your photo)!
Next stop, Honolulu!!
Fascinating! It looks like it could be Mars. I have the same policy about flying ad window seats. Way to make an exception for your photography though. :) Safe travels and enjoy your stay in paradise!
Gorgeous capture of the beautiful Rockies. I'm completely the opposite... I'm like a child... I like the window seat so I can look out and take pictures.
Have lots of fun in Hawaii :)
Oh my!! Instant fav!! So glad you looked out that window!! Amazing!! The processing is lovely! You're pictures are gorgeous you are so talented!! Safe travels!! I look forward to seeing Honolulu :D
Wow instant Fav Taffy! What an incredible shot - so pleased you took that window seat! Safe journey and enjoy Hawaii - somewhere I have always wanted to visit! I look forward to seeing your photos!
Pretty good results. I fly exclusively in the window seat twice a week - the windows are always scratched so much I never bother taking a shot. Very impressed with how this one turned out.
@pflaume absoloutely agree with Lisa ... that was first thought .. was going to ask if are now exploring Mars in your quest for great stunning images ... Lol ... big FAV!!
So cool. I have never seen the mountains like this. It is beautiful. A FAV for me and so jealous you are on the way to Hawaii. I have not been there in 32 years since my honeymoon.
Oh, girl, you did good! Enjoy your time in Hawaii; color me extremely jealous. You will be ending the year SUPER strong. So happy for you! Grades are in for me. I feel incredibly free right now...except for the mess that is my house. Enjoy. Have fun. Can't wait to see what you post!
Flying on a clear day has its benefits! Great shot and super processing. On planes I always take an aisle seat so I can get up and stretch. Have a blast in Honolulu--I'm going there next month so I hope there will still be some photos left to take.Ha Ha. Have fun.
Cool capture! It's almost abstract - at first I thought it was the sea :) Well done for moving up to looking through the window - and taking pictures while doing so :)
I love the window seat! I love looking out over the land below or the puffy clouds above. I love taking off in the rain, climbing above the clouds and seeing the sun shinning as if nothing was happening below. I love the look of cities as night- their lights like sprawled jem stones across a black velvet carpet. I've flown over the Rockies a couple times and they never cease to amaze me. I'm glad you made an exception to your rule! This is a wonderful picture.
Great shot and amazing processing! Yes, I am a "window girl" always, especially since I get motion sick anyplace where I cannot look out a window! Happy Birthday and Bon Voyage! I know you will use this journey to take some amazing photos in a different setting...
Have lots of fun in Hawaii :)
Happy Christmas to you! : )
