The Chicago River, last seen a bright green, is back to normal color and water traffic is picking up now that the ice has melted away for the season (we hope).
Really beautiful shot! I'd love to see it green in person one day!
Hi Taffy, I am your get-pushed partner this week. For your challenge I would like you to take a photo using forced perspective. :) Hope you like your challenge and can't wait to see what you do!
Beautiful colors! You capture the essence of the city so well. When I was in a big city I struggled with taking shots because there was so much in the way of what I wanted to capture that it frustrated me. I would probably adapt if I lived there full time.
@moxy I did the same thing when I first started photographing the city, but I think when you see the same things day after day, it helps you figure out how to see which bits and pieces are worth photographing. And, you can always re-do it another day!
@swilde Thanks Sue. Yes, the buildings literally create the feel of a canyon. What's nice is that a few years ago, they built a beautiful river walk, so that we can now walk right along the river safely.
Lovely composition and vantage point. This is an HDR processing, right? I have always been wondering how HDR would manage moving objects...always shied away from it, but it works quite well.
Love everything about this shot. Missed going to Chicago in 2012 due to being stuck in NY by the hurricane. Your shots make me determined to return to the U.S to see the city.
@ericdibosco Eric, thanks for the follow! This shot was not HDR. I did process it using Color Efex, but it's a single shot. Like you, I find HDR and moving objects not to work so well together. My hdr shots almost always have hdr in their name in the exif information. This one was taken using the bridge as a supporting structure, waiting til there were no cars going by which causes shake on the bridge. So, I was lucky with the timing of the boat going by.

@nanalisarocks Thank you Lisa -- that makes me feel really good!
