I'm back home in Chicago after our company's leadership retreat but still have some images from my photo walk there that I look forward to posting. This one was from the lake where the kid was fishing. Processed in Silver Efex to convert to b&w, then in Color Efex to add the tones using a graduated filter two times -- the second one rotating so the same tone would be in the lake as in the sky. I've just started playing around what I can do more creatively with the color filters in Color Efex.
A wonderful reflective image. Thanks for your comments about my snooker shots. I can see why you would find them confusing! Those who know my family members names would recognise Peter as my husband. He drove us there but as he isn't interested in snooker he went off on his own to a museum. Sheffield is a steel town so he was interested to see the history of steel making at the museum. The Crucible is a world famous venue although I don't know if it's famous in America. I have followed snooker for thirty years but only on TV! I think I should have posted more info about the place.
Hi there Taffy, I love the way you processed this! For your Get Pushed challenge how about having a go at a montage of images on a related theme. I don't see any recently in your albums. I am hosting MFPIAC this week so you could do an entry for that as the theme is one of your stated prefered subjects: animals. Check out the criteria on Themes and Comps.
it is very peaceful; curious effect; eye seems drawn to that bright area with the big tree. I might have had a hard time resisting making that entire tree bright, but it seems to work this way, as if the sky itself were lowering onto the trees.
Great use of limited colour palate to create a stunning image. If this is what you produce when you are only playing with the software, I can't wait for you to get the hang of it.
Wow Taffy this is an beautiful shot with amazing processing. Lovely soft tones and great reflections. Seeing what you can do with the Nik software makes me considering to invest in buying it. absolutely a fav
@leonbuys83 I encourage you to try it out (Nik Suite) as I predict you will love using it. IT's been fun and while it is powerful and able to do a lot, you can start using it immediately and grow with it over time.
@rvwalker As I was taking the shot, I knew it was one I'd want to do in monochrome. The idea of using more color than simply the grays occurred to me as I was processing -- but I can't claim I was thinking these colors as I took the shot. Thanks for your comments -- always thoughtful!
