I went for a photo walk late afternoon with Vickey, but no bad adventures or car strandings. I thought all was well til I realized my camera bag is in the back of her car. I still had my camera and my wide angle lens so went down to the beach towards sunset and the sky to the south was amazing. Oddly, the sunset itself was pretty boring.
Thanks for your nice comments about my 3rd lensbaby shot!
That sky on the right IS amazing! Too bad about leaving the bag behind. I just had a meet up with Lisa Bell Jamison and Paula Goff, and I got so excited to go investigate a covered bridge that I put my l ens cap in Paula's cup holder in back seat..then forgot it and went home to Georgia. Darn. I think she is going to mail it to me. Anyway, this is a gorgeous view
Maybe so (about the sunset), but the light on the sand and on the lake is really lovely. I like how the "scoop" of the clouds mirrors the curve of the shoreline. The textures in the clouds are also very nice.
@pamknowler Thanks Pam! It's because there were almost no clouds to the west, only to the south. So when I shot the sunset it was just a reddish sky and ball of light. But to the south, the sun was lighting up the clouds, sea, and beach and it was beautiful -- but without the sun in it. Clouds make such a difference in a sunset shot.
This was an instant fav Taffy, such a beautiful scene and lovely light. I went to the beach yesterday evening and the clouds were stunning and then the sunset wasn't very impressive at all.
You really did catch this scene at the perfect time, Taffy. This is a stunning landscape with a well balanced composition and such an interesting transition of colours in the sky your exposure or processing or both has also made the clouds look amazingly good. You should post this on the critique site as well...
Wow, Taffy! It seems like I am always saying that about your shots. This is another of those shots that just take you in and invite you to keep looking. The sky, the curve of treeline and the composition. Fav!
What a stunning view and lovely colours. I would have thought with that many clouds that the sunset would have been better for you. But this shot is great! Fav
Doesn't look boring to me! It's a beautiful landscape. Sometimes it's good to not have everything on hand. It makes you look very specifically at what you can do with what you have. In this case, I think it worked to your advantage! fav
If that's boring, I'm a monkey's aunt. The sky is stunning and your composition has really accentuated the gorgeous colours and textures in the sky. Definite fav.
What a great shot, Taffy. Love all the detail you captured and that amazing sunset. Love your continuing stories of your adventures with your friend. FAV
@bella_ss Thanks so much for your visits and comments Sheralee! I really appreciate it. And it's true -- I can't get to PP without at least 60 fav's usually, so I don't even hope for it anymore! I wish it were possible since I miss meeting new people that way, but oh well...I'm thrilled to be on TT!
Just browsing your brilliant album, Taffy. So many amazing images!! I won't be able to comment on them all but do know I love them, love your worlk and am always inspired by YOU. Thank you for your kindness and understanding. It mean a lot to me.
Thank you all for your kind comments! It was awfully pretty out there!
PS I think you and Vickey need to be chaperoned on your adventures. LOL
Thanks so much for your wonderful congrats, favs, and comments. I so appreciate your support of my photos -- it's very encouraging!
Awesome capture of the evening light here. Top stuff!!!!
