Fireworks at Navy Pier were fantastic and much fun to photograph. Capping off a four mile 'urban hike' along the lakefront, Jim grilling and fun dinner for my friend and me after our hike, and then the three of us heading over to the Pier. He bailed during a pretty boring "Venetian Night" that was supposed to be a parade of boats, but started very late, and then wasn't that interesting. Our friend and I stayed for the fireworks and I'm so glad we did!
@joansmor Exactly!! While we waited for the Venetian boats to go by (a total bust), I had tons of time for figuring out setup. Next time, though, I need to have a wide-angle with me, as I missed some wonderful images of fireworks with moon over the reflections on the lake and the boats. It was quite a scene and the 50 really wasn't able to handle anything more than fireworks.
@taffy Well, don't you think almost every photo session should leave you with things you want to try next time. Or in my case a session that will produce something worthy of posting.
Gorgeous fireworks! Great capture! I have never managed to get any firework shots as I am normally trying to calm Finlay down! Not looking forward to 5th November!
