These are tracks coming in from the south (used to be Illinois Central, now called Metra). They go into Millennium Station, which sits under Millennium Park and the Prudential Building. Instead of train tracks, with the construction of the park, we now have a beautiful area with sculptures, ice skating, restaurants, the concert hall, gardens, etc. It's the most popular attraction in the city, according to recent polls.
On days (like today) without a 'worthy' photo to post, I'm going through September folders before the end of the month to post photos I'd liked but didn't make the first cut.
Thanks for your great response to the sunset in the city canyon shot.
@joansmor there is no rhyme or reason to mine which people like! Goes to show we all like different things. Great as always Taffy and I would hesitate to guess ones from today would be too! I'm particularly drawn to the tracks on the left.
Great pov, shows off the visually interesting collection of different lines to best effect. Some wonderful contrasts of various sorts in this shot. Fav.
I like the converging diagonal lines across this shot and the textures on the tracks. For some reason, I like the contrasts between the smooth rails and the gravel. Lovely.
@salza@pamknowler No people because I took this at a very off hour on a weeknight. Especially during rush hour, the platform is covered in people.
@virtualbrownie You picked up on the difference in the two sides -- the right hand side is actually being torn up for repair or something. So I think only the left is actually functional
I love all the detail you captured in this photo, Taffy. Beautiful cityscape behind it too. Your photos are so 3D, like one is there looking at this live. Love that a lot. FAV
