Sitting at the Sydney airport commenting and relaxing and decided to post one more photo before I catch my flight. What an amazing country this is -- wonderful places and even more, wondeful people. Last night's walk with @redpants and @elaine55, Sue and Elaine, was fantastic and I will be working on photos for the next 20 hours of flights! This is from my walk with @silver_fox in Adelaide. At the medical research center that was recently completed. Sometimes referred to as 'the pineapple' or 'cheese grater' which you might be able to tell from the bit on the left top.
I'll be catching up with commenting and posting someday, but anticipate a crazy week or so ahead!
I wonder what these tube/chimneys are for in a medical centre! I'm not even going to think about it - just appreciate the lighting in this great photo!
I love your perspective here Taffy, its such an interesting shot, Love the lines. patterns and reflections of the trees in the glass, it looks a really interesting building. I would love to visit Adelaide, I have been planning to go for the past 3 years but haven't managed to get there yet but let's hope I can visit Linda @happysnapper65 when she is there next year.
Had a fab evening with you and Sue @repants last night!! Safe flight.
I love everything about this I love the quartet so shiny I love glass walls in that spectacular roof I love the lighting in the sky. I love your processing textures and tones. Big fav!
Kind of an "industrial" image, which works so well with your B&W rendering, You have really managed to capture the shape and shine of the structures so well - looking forward to more images of this magnificent structure.
Love it, especially the composition, reflection of the trees and the shine on the metal structures. It wasn't completed when I was there in January but will definitely go there on my next visit January 2015. This image will be a really hard act to follow but you have inspired me.
@jo13 It really was special to photograph with Elaine and Sue. A fun 'girls night out' too -- 365 has such wonderful people on it. This shot was taken when I was out with @silver_fox in Adelaide.Another great evening that I've not gotten to post much about as I haven't had time to process much at all. I was going to do a lot on the plane home and ran out of power! But since I have to send my camera in for repair, the next several weeks will likely be mostly Australia images!
I like the way you have processed this, especially your control of reflections and highlights. A great composition with a dominant feature and a lead in that gives it depth.
This is so cool with the different shapes and textures. What I really love the most is the shadow of the fence and the trees. Such an awesome contrast against the industrial.
Sounds like you've had a wonderful time while visiting Australia. Mission accomplished! You've definitely come away with some amazing pictures, this one included. The post touches make it so slick and shiny! Wishing you safe travels home.
Great POV and interesting building design! How fun to meet up with friends for a photo shoot! Impressed that you've managed to keep up with posts while traveling. I'm more than a week behind- lots of catching up to do.
@susale Aw...that's such a nice thing to say, Suse! I appreciate it. @paulaw I use Nik Suite's Silver Efex for almost all b&w processing -- it's not hard to figure out and it's a perfect tool/plug-in for that.
Hope you had a reasonable flight back. I do this flight every year so I am quite used to it, but it can be a pain in the butt sitting for so long. if 13 hours to the west coast was all we had to do it would be so much more bearable.
FAV! What a fantastic composition and processing to bring out an artistic image out of architecture. Sure wish I could have gone on the photowalk, too! I miss our interactions while doing photowalks together!
@frankhymus It is an awfully long flight. And after the flight over the ocean, to have to wait a few hours and then fly almost 4 more...that was definitely a pain! Thanks for the visit!
Love this! So futuristic looking. It sounds (and looks!) like you had a wonderful trip down under! It's great that you could meet so many 365'er there!
Had a fab evening with you and Sue @repants last night!! Safe flight.
FAV
@gigiflower I believe you, Sam, are a bit biased about Australia! Just sayin'!
Very interesting...
Taffy a wonderful shot and process. Looking forward to many more from your trip.safe journey home taffy.
