This will always be Marshall Field's in my mind, but it's now Macy's. After the tour of the theater, I walked over to Macy's as it was opening day for their annual flower show. It's on the 9th floor where you can look up and down the open center. I stood in as center a spot as possible, steadied my camera on the rail, and then took three sets of three shots: one down, one up, and one vertical. Here's the looking down one.
Thank you all who visited and commented and/or fav'd the lobby shot from the theater tour (and some who did the same for my onion shot)!
@rosiekerr I felt rather brave. I found I had to use Live View as looking through the eyepiece meant I had to get to close. I held my arms out as far as I could to reach the edge of the railing so I wouldn't have to stand next to it.
Wow! Just WOW! Fabulous image Taffy! You are so lucky being allowed in a shop like this with a camera! Yes live view would have been the way to go with this pov and this height! So pleased you had the strap round your neck! Another amazing architectural shot! Huge Fav!
Fantastic shot! This is on my list to do, but keep holding off as I shoot on an older model crop sensor camera, and would struggle to do anything close to this.
@ukandie1 I bet you would have fun renting a WA lens for your camera or even a fisheye. When I do fish-eye shots, it's using a DX (crop sensor) frame. Thanks for the kind comments! I so enjoy your shots of the city life.
Great shot! Look at you standing at the railing and taking a shot that would make me have butterflies in my stomach! You must be getting used to this thanks to your temporary balconies off your temporary home!
Wow, what a huge store. Love your photo and all the detail you captured. Pretty great for looking down to get this shot. My world would be spinning. FAV
What a height and great shot
