We left for the Crete airport at 5:45 a.m. and were treated to the most amazing sunrise over the Agean sea, from the back seat of our taxi -- a perfect end to a lovely week. And about 22 hours and 3 flights later, I was treated to a beautiful sunset over Chicago again from the taxi on my way home. I think I'll be posting photos from Greece for at least the upcoming week -- so many still left to process. I took this of the fountain in one of the main squares of the old town in Rethymno (the town where the university was hosting the conference, where we stayed) last night as Bill, Junko, and I walked back to the hotel after a special 'last dinner' of our together time in Greece.
Thank you for your comments on my photos from yesterday. I look forward to a quiet day tomorrow re-entering my 'real' life and catching up on 365.
Best on black. The stonework is gorgeous... so many textures. I really like the way the arch frames the window and how light spills out from the room. Looking forward to more Greece shots. :)
This is really gorgeous, and I am certainly looking forward to the rest of your photos from your trip to Greece. I love the way this is photographed through the ancient ruins leading to the warm light of what could possibly be the window to someone's home....beautiful shot, and another FAV!
