Thank you for your really wonderful support in responding to my LIght & Shadows image so that it ended up in the TT. Very exciting. And to see my shot of the bus on PP -- another treat for just for fun processing. I so appreciate your taking the time to look, comment, and fav.
This image is in Millennium Park. She seemed oblivious of people milling about, the sounds of the Chicago symphony rehearsing at the pavilion, and even me stooping to take her photo.
Taffy it is a treat to follow you. Funny photography means we concentrate too but often we see things.by our concentration but probably we miss other things.
I wonder if she is drawing something... she is so focused. Super, how you captured her sitting on the long receding line. I like the contrasty processing, too.
@candidzen Thanks Andy. I had tried positioning her on the left toward the back but ended up thinking this was the more interesting image. I'm glad you noticed.
Really like the strong contrasts in your shot - this worked so well in b&w - wish I could be as comfortable in trying candid shots as you are . Do like how you picked to compose the shot with so much space behind her - Really seems to fit well.
@milaniet I smiled at your comment about my being comfortable. I tested first to see if she noticed me and she was oblivious...that's when I stooped down to get the photo. I'm terrified of strangers!! Thanks for the kind words and visit!
@milaniet :-) Actually, I meant I'm a total wimp and understand! But maybe the way to think of it is if I can do it, so can you!! What really scares me is when the person I'm trying to sneak a photo of looks directly at me. I wish I could do the kind of candid or strangers' portraits that @jo13 has done!
@taffy@milaniet Thanks Taffy, it definitely takes nerve and I am beginning to loose mine as I don't get out with my camera as much as I used too! I tend to go for very close-up portrait shots as you know so asking them is the only way to go in my case, but this works really well as a candid shot, well done you.
Stunning! Those long lines of negative space drawing my eyes away from her, ensuring her privacy... Your high contrast processing really makes this a very strong image, yet you have retained perfect detail on her face. Well done, this is simply perfection.
Beautiful shot!! The leading lines are so strong, and she really appears to be melting into the concrete bench that she is sitting on. Her concentration is so intense she has almost become part of the landscape!! FAV!!
