More from Barcelona. I loved the ways this cathedral-in-progress reflected today's world, with elements of classical cathedral architecture, like the stained glass window forms.
Thanks for your comments and fav's that put La Perdrera on PP today!
Here's Junko's more surreal take on these pipes: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2015-12-17
@taffy I would imagine that the sound would be rather spectacular and that you would definitely know that it was coming from the pipes. Just seeing those pipes must be quite a sight even without sound!
What beautiful organ. The only time I visited Sagrada Familia, the main section was under construction and didn't see the organ. I hope in some century we will see this Gaudi's masterpiece finished ;)
This is indeed interesting as you can't pinpoint a style or a time here. It does blend different approaches and historical periods - which is the trademark of the cathedral.
It's funny, isn't it fellow 365ers, that you can go "ooooooooo" when you catch a glimpse of a photo before you you're aware who took it and just know you love it. Done it again Taffy. Fantastic composition. Fav.
@yaorenliu Yes, when I was there in May there were so many tourist buses and people that we did not go in. I also didn't understand that the cathedral was still under construction! This time, it was wonderful to see the inside and to know more about the progress of building this masterpiece. Very special!!
@maggiemae When we were there in May, that was the situation as well, so we didn't go in, and everything was behind scaffolding and tarp. So I didn't really understand then the significance of the cathedral and its construction. This time, I was far more prepared (last time was a two-day stopover on the way back from France) and was SO glad we were able to spend time inside, and without so many tourists -- no lines, plenty of open space inside...just wonderful!! Traveling off-season has its advantages!
@shepherdmanswife I already want to go back! We were there in May, but on a layover, so barely saw anything. Now that I see how great a walking city it is, and how photogenic, it would be easy to go back again and again and not tire of it.
Very striking! I imagine when the organ is played you feel it in every bone of your body. Those pipes would only be a small part of all the pipes used for an organ in a cathedral of that size.
Estoy halagado y contento que te ha gustado mi trabajo!
