Lyrics from a song made famous by Frank Sinatra. Taken from the Planetarium looking east across Lake Michigan to the city skyline. Comprised of 3 shots taken at sunset in a cloudless sky, imported together in picmonkey and cleaned up in Photoshop, after my frostbitten fingers defrosted. Best on black. Don't look too closely for the seams! Low building on left is the Aquarium, tallest is Sears then over to Navy Pier on the far right.
Thanks for your kind comments on the lily collage! My favorite was the lower right for a few who wondered or offered theirs.

Jane's email to me today got me to leave the house for some photography ops. Thanks Jane. This isn't a single wide-angle, but three wide-angles at 28mm. Not the super-wide, but hoping this 'counts' for the WA/fisheye focus this week. And learned something new in PS!!
Oh yes this counts all right! What a gorgeous view! A beautiful panorama Taffy! The colour of that sky is wonderful! You are just spoiled for choice for your photography - I can't wait for May when you can take me round "your kind of town!" . I just hope I can capture some of its beauty - fingers crossed fir the weather and that important extra - good light! Fav of course!
Oh Taffy, this is wonderful. So glad you dropped the studies for a bit and went out to see and capture this. Well done. I love how the sky changes color left to right
@salza@my_photofun Hi Sally and Darinka...sorry to mislead. in picmonkey, I created the collage of the three images side by side, and then in PS I used the blending brush to make the seams blend rather than be lines from the edges. In picmonkey, the important thing was to put the three into a collage and then remove the spaces from between the photos, but then the seams still showed a little which is why I had to finish it in PS. In PS, it wouldn't align the first photo for some reason, only the 2nd and 3rd. I don't know PS well enough to problem solve.
Beautiful scene and wonderful light, especially in the left part of the image. Did you use manual settings? because the right part of the image seems to be much darker then the left (might be the reason PS didn't align)
Beautiful panorama! It is supposed to be partially sunny today, but I have my doubts about the clouds clearing. However it is only 9am as I write this so there is time. See you at three!
Love this!! The colors against the city are great. While I did make it to Shedd, didn't make it all of the way over to the planetarium but after seeing this, that is on my list for my next trip up!
Great pano, lovely hues and light on the buildings brings out their shapes beautifully.
I do envy you folk who can line shots up for a pano, I'm rubbish at it - end up with something about a micron tall!
Superb shot of Chi-town!!! Just beautiful. If you hadn't said anything about stitching I would have never known it wasn't a one-shot pano, beautifully done.
@pamknowler@salza Thanks Pam and Sally. It really was exciting to see it there...it was 'the' photo when I decided to pick up my camera again after not unpacking it for over a week. I'm so glad I went out that day!
Taffy, I love looking at your albums but this one has just got me gobsmacked. The sky color, the sharpness of the skyline, and--well, just everything about this panoramic shot hits all of my "Perfect Picture" buttons. Your work inspires me to try harder when I'm wondering if there's any way to make my limited "at work and commute" photo opportunities better. And congrats on being a finalist for the January Town 2016 challenge!

I want to visit one day!
