Royal Crown OR Light Trails, Revisted by taffy

Royal Crown OR Light Trails, Revisted

I'm having too much fun with the hyperdroste app - http://hyperdroste.com - that I also used for yesterday's abstract. Many thanks for your great ideas for what yesterday's shot reminded you of - I enjoyed reading your comments a lot.
Today's image was created from the light trails shot I took and posted on Sunday. It was fun to see the range of abstracts the light trails could become, but this was definitely my favorite.
Impressive.

It blows my mind what you're doing with these things - they are so fascinating - the colors are tremendous, the flowing lines amazing, and how you're producing these unbelievable! Fabulous abstract shot. Fav

January 7th, 2016

January 7th, 2016
Wow, this is great stuff Taffy, love the colours, patterns and textures. Did you do this on your iPhone, I've been searching for a droste effect application ever since Apple, in their wisdom(?), stopped supporting Pixel Bender. This is a spectacular photo. Definite fav.
January 7th, 2016
Cool!
January 7th, 2016
Yes, the app only works on my phone, not even the iPad. I took the photo with my DSLR, then imported it to my iPhone to use the app with it. Then, after getting what I wanted, I uploaded it back to my computer and then imported it into Lightroom for final tweaking. The posted. So, a bit of a pain! But it's SO much fun that it was worth it. I think I'll post using this for another few days as there are so many possibility. Color is what really what seems to matter a lot for choosing the photos. This one had very distinct lines (the light trails) which led to some interesting options.

@golftragic This was info for you -- see above comment. Forgot to tag you.

Wow, was the word that came to mind when I looked at this photo! It seems like you can look at it for hours and still not see it all. Fav!
January 7th, 2016
@taffy Many thanks Taffy. I've now got the app on my phone, will try out your method as soon as I'm can get a suitable shot. Looks like a great addition to the armoury.
January 7th, 2016
@golftragic To try it out now, look for a shot that has some contrasting color and some lines. I'm sure you already have some that would work. Useful tricks: set the animation slider all the way to the left so the thing stops moving. FX Gallery shows you the starting point for any image you've imported. And at the top, it allows you to choose one or two poles which I've found to be interesting in how it affects the images.
